Our client is looking for a Senior Client Accountant. This person will play a central role in managing client relationships and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Managing a dedicated portfolio of clients with professionalism, attention to detail, and care.
Preparing, reviewing, and presenting management accounts, offering clear insights directly to clients.
Coordinating with auditors and maintaining audit readiness.
Developing budgets and forecasts, providing support for clients’ strategic planning.
Overseeing and reviewing VAT returns and payroll calculations.
Analyzing financial data to produce actionable reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
Mentoring and supporting junior team members, including reviewing work and organizing workflows.
Identifying and implementing improvements in internal processes and client service delivery.
Offering practical, proactive advice on financial and operational matters.
Keeping up to date with regulatory changes to ensure compliant and informed client guidance
Requirements
Solid understanding of Maltese accounting standards, VAT, and tax regulations
Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills
Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset
Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple client needs
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
A Maltese driver’s license is considered a plus
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification (or near completion of ACCA)
5 years of local experience in a similar role, ideally within the Maltese market
