Senior Audit Executive

Our client is looking for a Senior Audit Executive. 

Duties include:

• Conducting financial audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, with appropriate consideration of audit risk, areas of judgement, and complex accounting or technical matters;
• Demonstrating strong technical expertise across the primary accounting frameworks and audit methodologies, ensuring compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), regulatory requirements and best practice;
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAPSME and IFRS;
• Leading audit tasks and projects, such as coordinating the team’s preparation of financial statements;
• Identifying risks, inefficiencies and areas for improvement, and providing clear recommendations to clients;
• Building, maintaining and enhancing client relationships, delivering a high-quality, efficient service;
• Managing your own workflows, workloads and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of audit engagements, escalating at-risk engagements early;
• Tracking engagement performance against budgeted hours, and supporting the billing and fee analysis process;
• Staying up to date with auditing regulations, financial reporting standards and industry developments;
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members in their technical development, and reviewing their work as needed;
• Supporting the Audit Manager in identifying opportunities for team development and departmental growth.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ audit experience following achievement of your qualification
• Excellent command of ISAs, IFRS and GAPSME, and of Maltese regulatory requirements
• ACCA qualified or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese. Knowledge of a third language is considered a plus
• Local experience is required
• Candidates must be residing in Malta
