We are working with a local private school who are looking for a part-timer to join their team and assist with Finance and payroll duties.
This role is on a part-time basis, where you will be expected to work around 25 hours per week, until 2pm. Hours will be reduced significantly during summer time.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including posting invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Process monthly payroll, including salaries, deductions, leave, and other employee-related payments.
- Ensure payroll records are maintained accurately and that payroll-related deadlines and statutory requirements are met.
- Assist with employee registrations, terminations, and payroll-related documentation as required.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee questions and queries in relation to payroll.
- Prepare and process payments to suppliers and other third parties, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Maintain accurate records relating to fees, including receipts, outstanding balances, and payment allocations.
- Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Finance team.
- Assist with year-end procedures, audits, and other financial projects as required.
- Ensure all financial information is handled with a high level of confidentiality.
Requirements
- Previous experience in book-keeping, payroll, or a similar accounting role.
- Good understanding of payroll and basic accounting principles.
- Familiarity with SAGE is a plus.
- Fluency in English & Maltese.
- Confident and able to work independently.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
