Our client is seeking to recruit for a full-time, qualified Accountant to provide financial services for different legal entities of the the company. This position will be responsible for performing the day to day accounting of companies in different countries primarily in the UK, EU and Asia.
Duties include:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations across assigned legal entities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger transactions.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and fixed asset registers.
- Review and oversee payment runs, supplier invoices, bank reconciliations and cash transactions, ensuring appropriate controls and timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Coordinate VAT, tax and statutory reporting requirements, working with external advisers and local specialists to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, internal controls, the Group Chart of Accounts and local statutory requirements.
- Identify accounting and control risks, escalate significant issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Liaise with external auditors, accounting service providers, tax advisers, corporate secretarial agents and relevant government authorities.
- Present financial results, key risks and significant balance sheet movements to senior finance stakeholders.
- Lead and support finance process improvements, system integrations, automation and the standardisation of accounting practices across entities.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and technical support to the Accountant, reviewing work to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Allocate work, set priorities and monitor the quality and timeliness of deliverables across the regional accounting function.
- Support the onboarding, training and development of finance team members while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Act as the first point of escalation for regional accounting matters and support the Finance Manager in achieving departmental objectives.
- Act as Finance Manager for the region during periods of absence or when responsibility is delegated.
Requirements
- At least 5 or more years of experience in handling accounts, audit experience deemed an asset
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is an asset
- Excellent communication in English
- Local experience is required
- Willingness to travel when required
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
