Junior Finance Specialist - Payables - Part-Time

Our client within the marketing and digital media industry, is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Finance Specialist with prior finance experience to manage the Accounts Payable processes and support the Head of Finance.

This part-time position requires 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, operating on a hybrid schedule (a minimum of 2 days in the office). While core morning hours of 08:00 to 13:00 are preferred flexible start times are possible—making this an ideal opportunity for working parents seeking strong work-life balance

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable, including processing supplier invoices and third-party payments accurately and on time.
• Reconcile supplier statements, allocate payments, and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.
• Process contractor payments and employee expense reimbursements.
• Complete daily/weekly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate payment logs and spreadsheets.
• Assist with month-end financial reporting and Accounts Payable reconciliation.
• Support the Head of Finance with general accounting duties and ad-hoc tasks.

Note: Salary 16,000 - 18,000 annual Gross based on 25hours weekly.

Requirements

• Fluency in both Engish and Maltese is preferred
• Strong attention to detail & keeping up with tight deadlines
• Experience in payment processing & reconciliations is required

Education and experience

• O Level in Accounts is a must, Diploma or early stages of ACCA would be considered an asset
• 2 years local experience or background in Finance/Accounting
