Junior Accountant (Gozo based)

Our client, an accounting firm based in Gozo is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their growing team.

Main responsibilities :

• Maintain accurate financial records (invoices, receipts, payments)
• Perform reconciliations and update general ledger entries
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and data protection rules
• Assist with financial statements, management accounts, and client reports
• Support preparation of VAT returns and apply correct VAT rates in line with Maltese regulations
• Assist with payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, and contributions
• Support payroll filings and compliance reporting
• Maintain organised and up-to-date client records
• Assist with general administrative tasks and internal operations
• Provide ad hoc administrative and compliance support

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a similar role will be considered an asset
• Able to work independently while escalating more complex issues when needed
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and its practical use
