A client of ours specialised within the FMCG and Retail sector is looking to onboard a Head of Group Financial Reporting to join their growing team of professionals. The designated person will be working alongside the Group Financial Controller, Head of Treasury, and Senior Finance Managers of specific operations and jurisdictions, and will be reporting to the Group CFO.
Duties:
Supporting the CFO in decision-making and the development of Group plans and programmes, providing insight into the financial aspect of new strategies, programmes, trends, contracts and regulations
Planning, organising and evaluating the Group’s finance function and performance, designing and enforcing systems, procedures or policies, which enhance the Group’s operations and effectiveness
Leading the ongoing development and strengthening of Group internal controls and providing guidance to general managers/ heads of unit, in order to improve the budgetary process
Providing timely and accurate analyses of budgets, financial reports and financial trends, providing business solutions and ideas
Supervising the maintenance of the ledgers and other financial records across the Group, and ensuring that assigned accounting staff meet agreed KPIs and quality standards
Assuming full responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts within set deadlines, presenting these and other financial reports and other financial data to the Group leadership team
Supervising activities relating to the consolidation of financial accounts within the Group, and liaising with the Group’s auditors, as required
Optimising the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiating appropriate strategies to enhance cash position supervising the submission of Group VAT returns and financial data required by official bodies
Managing the cash-flow within stated parameters and in coordination with general managers/heads of units; Developing a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism
Managing the assigned Finance unit staff to maximise efficiency and effectiveness; Providing the team with technical financial advice, guidance and knowledge and ensuring that team members maintain professional standards
Carrying out any other tasks which may be reasonably required
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' relevant local experience working in a similar role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally in Maltese
Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and accounting standards
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field CPA, CFA, CMA, or equivalent professional certifications are highly desirable.
