A highly reputable client of ours, specialised within Financial services is looking to onboard a seasoned and highly experienced Head of Finance and Treasury to join their team of professionals. The designated person will be responsible for overseeing financial strategy, treasury operations, financial control, and regulatory reporting, and will Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO on financial planning, capital structure, and performance optimisation.
Duties:
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes, developing and executing the Organisations financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Manage funding strategies, including wholesale funding, deposits, and capital markets activities.
- Oversee all treasury activities, including liquidity management, funding, cash flow forecasting, and investment strategies; also leading, developing, and mentoring the Finance and Treasury team.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory liquidity ratios, maintaining strong financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory standards, overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Lead external audits and serve as the main point of contact for auditors.
- Collaborate with Risk and ALCO committees to manage financial and balance sheet risks, all the while contributing to the development and monitoring of risk appetite frameworks.
- Ensure effective resource planning and capability development within the function.
- Lead finance-related transformation initiatives aligned with the Organisation's digital strategy.
- Enhance financial systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
Requirements
- A minimum 10 + years’ local experience in banking or financial services, with significant exposure to treasury and finance leadership roles.
- Must have strong knowledge of banking regulations, capital and liquidity frameworks
- Proven track record in treasury management, financial control, and regulatory reporting
- Ability to operate effectively in a regulated environment
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CFA or equivalent)
