We are working with a client in the construction industry to recruit a Group Financial Planning & Forecasting Manager. The chosen candidate will play a central role in the Group’s financial planning and strategic decision-making, work closely with the CEO, senior management, and finance teams to transform financial and operational data into clear, commercially focused insights.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning processes across multiple entities.
- Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support strategic, investment, and commercial decisions.
- Partner with project and operational teams to monitor budgets, forecasts, margins, cash flows, and financial performance.
- Provide the CEO and senior management with forward-looking financial analysis, management reporting, and actionable insights.
- Analyse performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support investment appraisals, financing requirements, expansion plans, and banking discussions through robust financial projections and modelling.
- Continuously improve financial planning, forecasting, KPI monitoring, and management reporting processes across the Group.
Requirements
- Experienced in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management accounting or FP&A, ideally within a project-driven or multi-entity environment.
- Highly competent in Excel and financial modelling, with the ability to build a model from scratch rather than simply maintain an existing template.
- Strong in cash-flow forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
- Able to take raw information, incomplete data or a business idea and translate it into a structured financial forecast or business case.
- Commercially minded and capable of understanding the operational story behind the numbers.
