A highly regarded client of ours, specialised within the Retail sector, is looking to onboard a Financial Controller to join their team of professionals. The designated person will be reporting to Group CFO, and the Board, and responsibilities are as follows:
Duties:
- Provide overall, insightful analysis of the Company's performance, identifying opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, cash flow and support business expansion, as required.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Board and senior management, on financial and commercial matters, developing and implementing the Company's overall financial strategy in line with its business entities’ objectives.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and corrective actions, overseeing cash-flow management, working capital, and liquidity.
- Take overall responsibility for accurate and timely management accounts, financial reporting, annual budgeting processes, and regular forecasting cycles
- Provide the Board with meaningful and timely financial dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting.
- Work closely with management to drive financial and operational performance,
- Identify areas of revenue leakage, unnecessary expenditure, and operational inefficiency in a timely and prompt manner.
- Ensure compliance with Maltese accounting, tax and statutory requirements.
- Ensure the Company's finance team provides timely, accurate and useful information to the Board and operational management, also identifying opportunities for improvement to systems, automation and financial processes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 + years local experience, working in a similar role
- Excellet time and rganisational management skills are a necessity
- Pro active, hands on, and able to work against stringent deadlines, in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and ideally in Maltese
Education and experience
- Must be a fully qualified and locally warranted Accountant
