Financial Analyst

Our client, one of the largest companies in Malta is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team 

Responsibilities :

  • Analyse procurement and production costs, with a focus on raw and packaging materials.
  • Monitor material prices, landed costs and purchasing trends, identifying areas where costs can be reduced.
  • Compare actual costs against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances and highlight areas requiring attention.
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock movements and slow-moving items, ensuring appropriate accounting adjustments are made.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing and Operations to improve purchasing decisions, reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Review purchasing and supplier-related transactions and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
  • Oversee accounts payable and expense processes, ensuring transactions are accurate and in line with company policies.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning by providing relevant cost analysis and projections.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, better systems and more efficient ways of working.
  • Assist with financial controls, risk management and reporting while supporting the wider Finance team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years overall experience, of which 3 years in a Finance Analyst. With particular focus on FMCG.
  • Prior experience in Accounting / Finance function (e.g., Factory or Supply Chain Controller). Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience.
