Finance Manager

Our client within the Hospitality industry is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their team.

Main responsibilities include :

  • Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts Department, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of all financial operations across the Group.
  • Oversee and manage the accounting functions for all companies within the Group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including the preparation and review of final payroll reports for authorisation and the submission of monthly FS5s.
  • Oversee the Group’s accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring invoices, payments and collections are processed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices as required and monitor outstanding receivables.
  • Perform and oversee cash and bank reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of VAT and other statutory returns, including production-related returns where applicable.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions and activities within the company’s accounting software.
  • Liaise with sea captains and relevant operational personnel regarding financial matters, costs, expenditure requirements and budgetary considerations.
  • Prepare and manage departmental operating budgets, monitoring performance against approved budgets and providing variance analysis where required.
  • Establish, implement and maintain appropriate financial controls and procedures to ensure effective management of expenditure.
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure compliance with approved budgets, company policies and financial controls.
  • Provide ongoing financial advice, guidance and support to management and relevant departments to assist with informed business and operational decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and efficiencies across the Group.

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • A proactive “can-do” attitude, with the ability to take ownership, work independently and deliver results.
  • A commercially minded approach, with the ability to provide practical financial advice and support to the business.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of local accounting legislation, regulations and relevant financial institutions.
