A family-run CSP is seeking an experienced and pro-active Senior Client Accountant to manage a portfolio of Maltese clients. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of the full accounting process, from bookkeeping and transaction posting through to financial reporting, tax compliance, and client relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage and take ownership of a portfolio of Maltese clients
- Handle the full accounting cycle, from transaction processing and reconciliations to management accounts and financial statements
- Prepare VAT returns, tax returns, and statutory filings while ensuring compliance with Maltese regulations
- Monitor financial performance and provide clients with financial reporting, analysis, and practical business support
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit processes
- Attend occasional client meetings and site visits when required
Please note that this is an urgent vacancy with a short hiring timeline. As a result, we are currently seeking candidates already based in Malta who have the legal right to work without requiring a new work permit or a work permit transfer.
Requirements
- Mature, autonomous, and capable of managing client relationships independently
- Strong knowledge of Maltese accounting, VAT, and tax requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Valid driving licence preferred

Education and experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA, Accountancy degree, or equivalent)
- 3-5 years' accounting experience, ideally within a CSP, accounting practice, or client accounting environment
