Audit Supervisor

On behalf of our client, a reputable and growing professional services firm providing audit and accounting, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Audit Supervisor to join their team in Nicosia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified audit professional with 3–5 years of relevant experience who is ready to take the next step in their career, assume greater responsibility for audit engagements, supervise junior team members, and work with a diverse portfolio of local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, review, and provide guidance to junior and semi-senior audit team members.
  • Review audit working papers and ensure that audit files are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Identify accounting, audit, and internal control issues and communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and clients.
  • Liaise directly with clients to obtain financial information, supporting documentation, and explanations required during the audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), IFRS, Cyprus legislation, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with tax computations, tax compliance, and other accounting or advisory assignments where required.
  • Monitor engagement progress and proactively identify and communicate potential issues or delays.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with a portfolio of local and international clients.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of audit methodologies, internal processes, and service quality.
  • Work closely with Partners, Managers, and colleagues across the audit, accounting, tax, and advisory teams.

Main Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
  • Good understanding of Cyprus accounting, audit, and tax legislation.
  • Previous experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior audit team members.
  • Strong experience in preparing and reviewing audit working papers and financial statements.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with audit and accounting software such as CaseWare, Intelisoft, E-Soft, or similar systems will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple audit assignments, prioritize workload, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in dealing directly with clients.
  • Professional attitude, integrity, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

Requirements

  • Plan, supervise, and execute audit engagements in accordance with applicable auditing and accounting standards.
  • Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Education and experience

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • 3–5 years of relevant audit experience, preferably within an accounting, audit, or professional services firm.
