Assistant Tax Manager (Full time or Reduced Hours)

Our client, a CSP in Malta is looking to recruit an Assistant Tax Manager to join their team.

Main responsibilities : 

  • Review corporate and personal income tax returns, related tax computations, and other tax forms and schedules prepared by junior associates.
  • Review VAT returns and VAT assessments, and provide clients with support and guidance on technical VAT matters.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior associates on tax and VAT compliance matters.
  • Provide professional advice and technical opinions on Maltese and international tax matters.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues and prepare advanced tax computations, including the application of the Notional Interest Deduction Rules and the Consolidated (Income Tax) Rules.
  • Assist with the structuring of transactions, corporate reorganisations, and group restructurings.
  • Remain up to date with local and international tax developments and assess their potential impact on clients.
  • Contribute to the department’s training, knowledge-sharing, and professional development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while consistently delivering a high standard of service.
  • Manage workloads effectively and ensure that all deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4–6 years’ experience within the tax department of a Corporate Service Provider (CSP).
  • Proven experience in reviewing tax computations, tax returns, and related documentation.
