Our client, a well-established Maltese company located in the North of Malta within the hospitality sector, is looking to recruit an Accounts & Administration Executive to support its finance and back-office operations.
This is a varied role with a primary focus on accounting, while also supporting general administration and office operations. It is ideal for a proactive all-rounder who enjoys taking ownership of a broad range of responsibilities and contributing across different areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting function, excluding payroll.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with the preparation of management accounts.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations and support month-end processes.
- Review accounting records and oversee the work of the Accounts Assistant, who is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing and sales processes.
- Liaise with the external accountant on financial and statutory matters.
- Handle general office administration, HR paperwork, and business documentation.
- Carry out a variety of administrative tasks, including updating prices on cash registers, maintaining records, and providing occasional marketing support.
- Assist with improving finance and administrative processes as the business continues to digitise its operations.

Requirements
- Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software.
- A positive, proactive, and hands-on attitude with a willingness to support a variety of accounting and administrative tasks.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a varied role.
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken Maltese are preferred.

Education and experience
- 2-4 years' experience in accounting and administration.
- ACCA studies or an accounting qualification are considered an asset but are not essential.
- Experience preparing VAT returns and assisting with management accounts.
- Previous local experience is required, experience within a Maltese business environment is preferred.
