Accountant

We are working with an established company in the construction industry who are looking for an Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Lead the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
• Manage and oversee payroll activities.
• Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.
• Research and address technical accounting matters to ensure regulatory and accounting compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
• Maintain strong quality controls over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory, governmental, and tax reporting requirements.
• Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls.
• Undertake additional financial controller responsibilities as required, including supporting business planning and financial strategy development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of local work experience
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing principles
• Proficiency in accounting software, financial systems, MS Excel, and other relevant financial tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
• Sound knowledge of applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax compliance requirements.
• Previous experience within the engineering, construction, or related industries would be considered an asset.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as ACCA or CPA are considered an advantage.
