Accountant

A company operating within the Pharmaceutical industry is currently on the lookout for an Accountant to join their growing team. 

Duties include: 

• Creating and improving processes and controls relating to Finance and other administrative areas
• Capitalisation of Fixed Assets including all related documentation
• Periodic analysis of labour costs and overhead expenses in comparison to budget forecast prior month and prior year
• Periodic plant productivity calculation, analysis reporting
• Month end close process and related journal entry preparation
• Maintain inventory records receiving month end adjustments of usage and costings
• Responsible for overall Physical Inventory and related audits
• Assist in month-end close of the General Ledger relating to COGS / Inventory accounting
• Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close, including the preparation of monthly journal entries
• Coordination with Operations and Plant Managers to facilitate the periodic update of the standard costs in the bill of materials
• Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
• Perform various product profitability and margin analysis including a monthly product costing variance analysis
• Assist with the timely and accurate maintenance, preparation and issuance of plant and corporate cost statements

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ of local experience in accounting
• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of plant operations and its product lines by working in a cross functional capacity in the product development process
• Fluency in both written and spoken English
