NOC Technician

Malta  |  €18,000 - €21,000  

Our client is currently seeking a NOC Engineer for a vacancy in Malta to work on a shift basis to cover the company's 24x7 operations. As a NOC Technical Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Network monitoring and management of SLA and other corporate customers
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting the Company’s IP/Broadband, Metro Ethernet Network, Gigabit, SDH, MPLS and Mobile Packet Networks through the operation of the respective Network Management Systems
  • Monitoring the performance of all the Network Elements to forecast potential issues and advising the specialist teams or customers to take the necessary actions;
  • Providing second-level assistance and operational technical support to other internal teams;
  • Ensuring that the services offered to the Company’s customers are of the highest quality from a technical point of view through the use of fault and performance monitoring of the networks;
  • Liaising with peer technicians or NOC of service providers and clients, and other sections within the company as required;
  • Understanding and taking ownership of the operational tasks assigned to the job holder, such tasks are followed to completion before escalating to the specialist team if necessary;
  • Maintenance of technical documentation of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations;
  • Development of knowledge and skills in network and system administration, particularly regarding the company's own architecture and platforms.

  • Able to multitask and resolve issues promptly and accurately

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • Work experience in a similar environment / commitment to learn and gain knowledge on technologies such as Transport and Transmission systems, VoIP, IP security, ISP aggregation, SP services such as email, DNS and web services.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as NOC Technician in an IT operational environment, running IT/Telecommunication services in a NOC on a 24x7 basis

Education & Experience

  • Technical qualifications such as an ICT Diploma or similar;
  • CCNA certification or better (Plus)
