Konnekt forms part of a consortium handling temporary employment for the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, commonly known as Frontex, based in Warsaw, Poland. We are looking for a Polish-based IT Assistant to form part of the interim staff of FRONTEX who will provide support in specific areas.
Purpose:
- To provide IT support in the areas of computer networks and systems, software and telecommunications maintenance, equipment for meetings, presentations and audio video conferences;
- To provide basic troubleshooting of Windows systems, networking, printing, audio video conferencing and other IT services; Support IT stock control, assets distribution and inventory checks;
- To provide the basic infrastructure support related to maintenance of the end users’ ICT equipment and IT-related services.
Indicative tasks:
- to provide basic support in Windows systems administration and support the users on IT-related incidents/ problems/ well-known errors (helpdesk support);
- to manage the local telephone exchange including user support, troubleshooting, telephone installation;
- to support users and their work stations, telephones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and other IT equipment;
- to install, connect and move PC equipment;
- to manage user accounts.
- to compare actual IT stock with assets distribution records and database figures to obtain current inventory;
- to compare actual IT assets distributed to end users with assets distribution records and database figures to obtain current inventory;
- to prepare and follow-up reports such as inventory balance and shortages;
- to prepare list of obsolete IT assets and proceed with write-off reports.
Skill-sets and Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience after secondary school in the field of computer networks and systems, software and communication maintenance, or in the field related to inventory control or warehouse environment, maintenance or management.
- Very good knowledge on Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Technologies support;
- Very good knowledge of hardware environment (PC, printers);
- Very good skills in the main MS Office software (mostly MS Excel);
- Experience in assisting users with queries or problems related to PCs, peripherals, networks and office automation tools (MS-Office);
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving incidents and service requests;
- Good knowledge on Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Technologies – to be verified at the interview.
- Depending on the business needs, the following criteria are considered advantageous: 1) previous professional experience in IT supporting tasks; 2) ICT equipment, accessories and spare parts stock control; 3) experience in information management.
- Very good command of spoken English (at least B2). Knowledge of additional EU language is an advantage.
Education & Experience
Successfully completed secondary or higher education, preferably in the field of IT. Additional education in the field of computer science is an advantage.
