A client of ours specialising in the Industrial Goods and Services sector is looking to onboard a Chief Information Officer ( CIO), to join their team of professionals; This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of IT strategies, policies, and systems to support the overall business objectives:
- Develop and execute the organisation's technology strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business goals. This involves identifying opportunities for technology to drive innovation and growth.
- Provide leadership and direction to the technology department, including IT teams.
- Ensure that technology teams are well-organized, motivated, and capable of delivering on strategic objectives. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and security.
- Evaluate and manage IT risks, ensuring effective risk management practices are in place.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of our company’s technology infrastructure. Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems and networks.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes, customer experiences, and overall efficiency. Identify and leverage emerging technologies to gain a competitive advantage.
- Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of organizational data. Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Communicate IT strategies, initiatives, and performance to key stakeholders, including executives and board members. Collaborate with other departments to understand and address their technology needs.
- Lead research and development efforts to innovate and create new technologies or solutions that can give the company a competitive edge.
- Ensure the security of the organization's data and technology infrastructure.
- Implement cybersecurity measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and manage the technology budget, making strategic decisions about investments in technology resources and projects.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate third-party solutions and services.
Skill-sets and Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years prior experience in managing technical teams and projects
- Have excellent leadership, strategic, analytical and project management skills, also having a proven track record of such
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ideally in Maltese
- Broad knowledge of modern software technologies and techniques and able to understand issues and challenge staff where required
- A proven track record of leading change and delivering results through IT in a business environment.
Education & Experience
A recognised qualification in information technology or a related subject. Post-graduate qualifications in management will be considered an asset.
