IT Administrator

Malta  |  €25,000 - €28,000 

A large and well-established Maltese firm is looking for an IT Administrator. The selected candidate will form part of the IT department and will work on a range of technologies and devices in different areas of the company and support users in day-to-day issues. 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the first line of support to end-users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve general issues with network devices, printers, servers, desktops, notebooks, peripherals, WiFi systems, and telephone systems.
  • Install, configure, repair, upgrade, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, etc.
  • Install, update, and configure operating systems and applications.
  • Provide support over internal applications and software, wireless networks, etc.
  • Set up and maintain users, access permissions, mailboxes, etc.
  • Engage with staff face-to-face, over the phone or email to help set up or resolve issues.
  • Ensure that work is carried out within acceptable timeframes.
  • Manage system backups and data recovery operations.
  • Provide regular status updates to the IT Manager.
  • Assist with emergency support.

Skills:

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command of both Maltese and English.
  • Ability to manage time and pending tasks.
  • Be able to work in a team, as well as on their own initiative with limited supervision.
  • Be proactive and take initiative.
  • Keen eye and attention to detail.
  • Be able to work under pressure.

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • Knowledgeable on Network configuration and security.
  • Experience in handling general support and maintenance on server infrastructures.
  • Experience in handling general support and maintenance on server infrastructures.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office applications.
  • Knowledge on virtualised environments will be considered an asset.
  • Previous work experience in similar roles will be considered a strong asset.

Education & Experience

A minimum of MQF Level 4 diploma in IT and/or industry certifications by various vendors are essential.
