Senior Purchasing Officer


Our client is within the local manufacturing setting is looking for a Senior Purchasing Officer to join their growing team. Reporting to the Head of Procurement you will be responsible for the following. 


  • Engaging in negotiations and placing orders from suppliers
  • Follow up on frame/purchase orders
  • Developing relevant KPI’s for strategic procurement
  • Implementation of cost savings initiatives
  • Continuous development of the organisation and suppliers
  • Supplier selection and supplier management
  • Knowledge how to use her/his international network
  • Monitoring of price development and deliveries
  • Implementing change notes
  • Proper data setting (eg. Pricing, MOQ, lead times) in general planning in Oracle
  • Being responsible for second sources and replacement of suppliers

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • In depth understanding and knowledge of the industry and products
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Organisational and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of value analysis

Education & Experience

  • Education at MQF Level 4 or higher
  • Confident fluency in English is a must
  • Fluency Maltese and German would be considered an asset
  • Relevant working experience in a similar role and/or industry would be given preference
