Operations Coordinator (Freight-forwarding)

Our client, a leading player in the freight-forwarding industry, is seeking to hire an Operations Coordinator to join their expanding team. Reporting to the Manager, the chosen candidate will:

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor incoming groupage and full-load trailers scheduled to arrive in Malta.
• Oversee and manage other incoming shipments, including containers, air freight, and courier deliveries.
• Supervise unloading operations at the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and accuracy during the discharge of groupage cargo.
• Communicate effectively with clients to organize daily deliveries based on their requirements and delivery windows.
• Understand client needs and provide tailored logistics solutions, including value-added services at an additional cost where applicable.
• Monitor and follow up on temperature-controlled trailers during the week and over weekends, ensuring compliance with product integrity standards.
• Lead and coordinate tasks for the team operating at Hal Far Bonds, assigning daily responsibilities and ensuring execution.
• Collaborate with the front office to report and resolve discrepancies identified during the unloading of groupage trailers.
• Liaise with the accounts department regarding cost allocations and local operational expenses.
• Coordinate with the customs broker for non-EU and excise shipments, ensuring timely customs clearance.
• Work closely with the operations department to identify priority shipments and trailers, optimizing service efficiency and client satisfaction.

Education and Experience

• Previous Experience in Warehousing and Deliveries
• Good command of the English and Maltese language, both written and spoken
• IT Literacy – use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
