This Head of Procurement job is with an international company. The successful person will need to ensure the strategic organization objectives are met vis a vis purchasing, suppliers, logistics, quality and leadership of the team.
Main duties include:
- Develop plans to ensure client's expectations are met and exceeded - products, quality and service
- Ensure the right negotiations are being carried out with suppliers at all times
- Create a procurement strategy that reflects the right quality brands bought at the right price
- Monitor the standards and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Nurture a strong working relationship with suppliers
- Liaise with internal departments as needed
- Ensure the team procurement team is meeting targets and objectives
- Measure the teams performance and train and guide where needed
Education & Experience:
- University degree level of education is a must
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a procurement role in international markets is needed
- Good understanding of the supply chain cycle - product selection to delivery to customer
- Good understanding of reading financial reports
- IT Savvy - Excel (advanced)
- Professional level of English is a must with knowledge of Maltese seen as a preference
