Head of Procurement


This Head of Procurement job is with an international company.  The successful person will need to ensure the strategic organization objectives are met vis a vis purchasing, suppliers, logistics, quality and leadership of the team.

Main duties include:

  • Develop plans to ensure client's expectations are met and exceeded - products, quality and service
  • Ensure the right negotiations are being carried out with suppliers at all times
  • Create a procurement strategy that reflects the right quality brands bought at the right price
  • Monitor the standards and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Nurture a strong working relationship with suppliers
  • Liaise with internal departments as needed
  • Ensure the team procurement team is meeting targets and objectives
  • Measure the teams performance and train and guide where needed

Education & Experience:

  • University degree level of education is a must
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a procurement role in international markets is needed
  • Good understanding of the supply chain cycle - product selection to delivery to customer
  • Good understanding of reading financial reports
  • IT Savvy - Excel (advanced) 
  • Professional level of English is a must with knowledge of Maltese seen as a preference
