Social Worker Assistant (temporary)

Within this Social Worker Team Leader position, you will be forming part of the company's Department of Operations. Your main duties will include: 

  • Welcoming new arrivals
  • Information provision to applicants
  • Individual social case management
  • Assessing special needs and referral to relevant services
  • Organising resident meetings
  • Support in reception matters
  • Organising activities
  • Fulfilling daily/weekly routines
  • Working on a potentially irregular time schedule
  • Participating in briefings and meetings
  • Reporting and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervision of 4 Vulnerability Focal Points
  • Liaising with the National Authority 

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in first-line activities in reception centres for applicants for international protection
  • Good knowledge of the legal international and European framework regarding International Protection and the Common European Asylum System  
  • International experience is considered advantageous

Skills

  • Professional fluency in English both verbal and written
  • Good intercultural communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in coping with a potentially stressful and tense situation
  • Being flexible and able to work in different settings with the capability to work in multi-disciplinary teams in a multi-cultural environment 
  • Being able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
