Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Retail Maintenance Manager to support their Retail Operations function.
The Main Responsibilities include:
Technical Team Leadership: Lead and manage a dedicated in-house team of technicians and electricians, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
Strategic Problem Solving: Evaluate technical issues within retail outlets to determine whether they can be resolved by the internal team or require specialized third-party intervention.
Vendor Management: Coordinate and liaise with external suppliers and contractors to assist with specialized maintenance needs on an ad-hoc basis.
Comprehensive Facility Oversight: Manage all aspects of building maintenance and structural upkeep for retail locations.
Equipment & Machinery Care: Oversee the repair and maintenance of all tools and machinery used within the shops to ensure they operate safely and reliably.
Preventive Maintenance: Implement structured maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
Resource Prioritization: Schedule and coordinate repairs and upgrades based on urgency and equipment criticality to minimize disruption to retail schedules.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance practices meet OHSA standards, sanitation requirements, and general workplace safety regulations.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Requirements
Technical Diagnosis Skills: Must possess a strong technical understanding to identify problems in tools, machinery, and building systems.
Supervisory Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is mandatory.
Professional Mindset: Must be proactive, flexible, and highly attentive to detail regarding operational efficiencies.
Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office applications.
Education and Experience
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a maintenance role.
At least 2 years of experience specifically in a managerial position.
While fluency in Maltese is preferred, international candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
