Sales Manager

Our client is a leading importer and distributor of special dietary requirements and healthy foods. At the moment, the company requires the support of a Sales Manager. As the Sales Manager you will be responsible for: 

  • The management of already-existing customers and negotiating with them on discounts, shelf space and chiller/freezer space
  • The authorisation of sales orders and volume rebates for customers
  • The creation of a positive experience through the provision of top-tier customer service to customers via a consultative selling approach.
  • Lead the Merchandising team
  • Organise foreign supplier market visits
  • Oversee and monitor the activities and performance of the Sales team, including the Sales Administrator
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department on lead generation and new product development whilst providing recommendations, based on market insight and knowledge, on pricing approaches
  • Develop and training the Sales, Merchandising team and Sales Administrator by motivating them, ensuring products knowledge and guide/assist when needed
  • Attend management meetings and discussing different strategies to reach Company goals
  • Set targets which align with the Company goals and incentivising the Sales team to meet the said targets

Working hours for this role are Monday to Friday (normal office hours) with an element of flexibility.

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • 5 years experience working in sales
  • FMCG sales and distribution experience will be considered an asset
  • Excellent commercial skills are a must
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Customer relationship management experience is a must
  • Must have proven experience in leading a Sales team
  • Communication, time management and people skills

Education & Experience

  • Written and verbal skills in both English and Maltese
  • A'level standard education or equivalent
