We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven B2B Sales Representative to join a leader in the building materials industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling a comprehensive range of materials to key commercial clients, including contractors, property developers, architects, and distributors. This role requires leveraging strong industry knowledge and sales expertise to forge lasting client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and deliver tailored solutions for small, medium, and large-scale construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities with major players in the construction and development sectors.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term, profitable relationships with key accounts and high-level decision-makers.
- Product Expertise: Present and promote a diverse portfolio of building materials (e.g., cement, concrete, steel, aggregates, roofing, insulation, finishes, etc.) with technical accuracy and insightful market context.
- Consultative Selling: Conduct site visits and consult with project managers and technical teams to accurately understand material specifications, requirements, and project timelines.
- Proposal & Negotiation: Prepare and deliver professional proposals, bids, and quotations. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutual profitability and high customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with internal teams (Logistics, Operations, Credit) to ensure seamless order fulfillment, timely delivery, and a smooth credit/sales process.
- Market Analysis: Monitor construction market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to continuously refine and inform sales strategies.
- Sales Administration: Maintain meticulous sales records, accurate forecasts, and manage the sales pipeline efficiently using CRM tools.
- Industry Representation: Act as a brand ambassador by representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and relevant networking functions.
Requirements
- Proven, successful track record in B2B sales, ideally within building materials, construction supplies, or industrial products.
- Strong foundational understanding of the construction industry and the specific applications of building materials.
- Good comprehension of product technical specifications and data sheets.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and high-stakes negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with clients, deeply understand complex project requirements, and recommend appropriate, high-value solutions.
- Highly target-driven, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Competency with CRM systems (essential) and the MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to undertake international travel for business as required.
Education and Experience
- An established, active professional network of contractors, builders, architects, or distributors.
- Prior experience successfully managing tenders and working with large-scale commercial or public construction projects.
- Familiarity with complex construction supply chains, established procurement processes, and credit sales procedures.
