Quality and HACCP Manager

Our client, an established manufacturer of food products, is recruiting for a Quality and HACCP Manager to join their growing team. Reporting directly into the Directors, your duties will include;

  • Creating, Up keeping and reviewing the Quality Assurance & HACCP system of the Organisation on a regular basis
  • Creating, and implementation of Standard Operational Procedures relating to Quality & Food Safety.
  • Preparation and File keeping of all HACCP documentation, traceability and other documentation related to Quality Assurance/HACCP according to EU852/2004 Food Safety HACCP Management System.
  • Supervision in the Manufacturing plant and other areas such as stores and cold rooms to ensure staff practises are compliant with HACCP (Hazard Analysis critical Control Point) Food Safety System standards
  • Communicating and liaising with Environmental Health Inspectors during audits and other relevant issues
  • Ensuring all required certificates and equipment calibrations are performed on a regular basis and documented
  • Creating food products datasheets and food labels as per EU1169/2011
  • Ensuring FCM (Food Contact Materials) used for packed food conforms with EC 1935/2004
  • Corrective Actions reports and incident reporting
  • Delivering Induction Training to new recruits and Organisation SOP's (Standard Operational Procedures)
  • Working closely with Supervisors and other Management to ensure that the HACCP Food Safety System is running smoothly through the entire chain.
  • Making sure that the manufacturing plant is adhering to the health and safety regulations.

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • 4-5 Years of experience within a Quality and/or Food Safety role is a must.
  • A Degree level of education in Food Science/Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or a related science
  • Good grasp of HACCP procedures and respective Food Safety / Quality standards
  • Based in Malta and holding a valid driving license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to maintain high levels of focus and consistency in a fast-paced environment
  • An excellent collaborator and able to liaise with and lead different teams and verticals
