Project Manager (Banking & Finance)


A client of ours specialising in the Banking sector is currently looking to onboard a Project Manager ( Banking & Finance) to join their team of professionals to manage Finance specific projects and also act as the main interface for Finance with respect to Bank-wide projects.


  • Interface with the overall Project Managers, Business users, IT units, and Suppliers on project-related matters.
  • Managing and monitoring all Finance related departmental projects
  • Develop, monitor, and update finance specific project plans to make sure they are adhered to
  • Make sure that the deliverables of the project are handled in proper timeframes and with a well comprehensive documentation
  • Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Business Analysts to identify and fine-tune project requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Assist in project budget preparation and monitoring
  • Manage and execute testing processes with the assistance of other finance users
  • Coordinate any project related training and ensure that users are able to use the solution effectively and efficiently
  • Manage the roll-out of Finance led changes to ensure the appropriate change management is in place to ensure smooth operational adoption.
  • Provide recommendations and designs for implementation or improvement options
  • Conduct impact analysis of proposed changes and feasibility assessments
  • Research and analyse all aspects of existing business practices and procedures through data gathering observation and meetings with staff to identify frustrations, hindrances, and other issues that interrupt or complicate daily workflows
  • Ensure that new or updated systems and/or processes have proper user and system documentation
  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication
  • Responsible to manage all input and feedback required from the Finance & Treasury Department 
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience, either directly as a business analyst or project manager in the financial industry or through direct involvement in the analysis and implementation phases of projects
  • Experience in testing and deployment of new solutions or patches to existing systems under established change control procedures
  • Must have an excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Good understanding of process flows, data gathering requirements and ability to identify user needs and behaviours
  • Strong knowledge of banking concepts, constructs and processes is a must
  • Have strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education & Experience

MQF Level 6 qualification in IT / Business or relevant certifications
