Business Manager

In this role of a Business Manager, you will be reporting to a Logistics Manager for a specific Business Unit and responsible to control and co-ordinate the sales, marketing and distribution operational activities of the Company and ensure the highest possible efficiencies and profitability, whilst maintaining a high level of customer service. Your duties will include;

  • In conjunction with the Head of Logistics implement agreed objectives through the required organisational changes and periodically report progress.
  • Assist in forecasting market demand and set up sales targets.
  • Monitor sales and marketing activities, analyse sales volumes and performance in order to meet the profit and volume goals specified by the company’s strategic business plans.
  • Negotiate and coordinate incoming shipments of products and parts and ensure that shipments arrive on time and within budget.
  • Secure customers and continually prospect and qualify new customers through Sales Reps, Telesales, and all other means available.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate the delivery routes and make necessary changes in order to maximize sales efficiently and effectively, whilst ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • In collaboration with the Credit Control Department, follow up debtors’ situation, recommending, reporting and intervening as necessary.  Monitor and control debtors, ensuring timely cash collection.
  • Together with the Production and Logistics Departments, ensure that inventory levels are adequate to meet demand by reviewing data recorded in stock control system, retrieve data and design reports.
  • Ensure that the Company’s policy on human resources matters (i.e. recruitment, appraisals and promotions) is adhered to.  Develop human resources as business demands require.
  • Ensure that the organisation structure reflects a correct distribution of tasks and responsibilities among employees.
  • In line with the Company’s annual budget, see to control operations covering profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable and cost standards.  Identify saving opportunities

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • Have 5 years’ experience managing holistic business operations, ideally within FMCG
  • Possess very strong leadership, team facilitation and problem solving skills
  • Show initiative and creativity
  • Be an excellent communicator both verbally and written, possessing ICT and good presentation skills
  • Have good analytical skills and be proactive.

Education & Experience

A Diploma / Degree in Business Administration or equivalent will be considered an asset.
