Operations Manager (Production)


This job of an Operations Manager is within a Production Facility.  You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the facility while liaising internally with respective supportive functions as required - Maintenance, HR, Finance and Marketing:

  • Ensuring a smooth daily operation within the production facility
  • Schedule the production as per customers request
  • Assess, Develop and Maintain systems to improve performance  and efficiency in work methods - staff and equipment
  • Support with the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvements related to the safety of the food industry
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment
  • Oversee the warehouse functions - storage and personnel 
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels - raw materials and finished goods
  • Assist with Forecasting of raw materials 
  • Establish and ensure a positive work environment
  • Prepare reports as requested 

Education and Experience

  • Engineering Degree is preferred, however, experience within a catering production facility would be considered as an asset
  • Knowledge of HACCP seen as a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial position within a production / manufacturing environment is a must
  • Sound understanding of production and engineering processes
  • Good knowledge of product costing and cost control
  • IT Savvy - Microsoft office and other operating systems
  • Native level of Maltese is preferred however professional level of English is a must
