Malta

Our client is seeking experienced people to join their tax team. Ideally candidates are knowledgeable on tax advisory and tax compliance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting both our local and internationally operating client base in the area of direct taxation
  • Advising clients as to how they can maximize tax efficiency in relation to their business structures and activities as well as the tax implications of corporate transactions and restructuring activities
  • Advising expatriate clients about their tax obligations in Malta
  • Preparing technical written tax opinions as required by the clients
  • Communicating clearly with clients and be able to understand their requirements
  • Keeping abreast with tax developments locally and internationally
  • Preparing news items and articles for our website
  • Assisting with business development initiatives

Requirements 

  • Qualification in accounting, law or part qualification ACCA (must have reached P level)
  • A good working understanding of Malta’s tax law and the EU directives and international developments in the area of taxation and their practical implications
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience in a similar environment with considerable exposure to tax advisory work
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team to produce quality work
  • Ability to work in an organised manner to engagement deadlines
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and written skills in English and Maltese

Additional assets:

  • A good grasp of Maltese corporate law
  •  Post graduate qualification in taxation
  •  Fluency in one or more foreign languages
