Junior Legal Counsel

€22,000 - €29,000  |  Malta

A Junior Legal Counsel is currently available with a reputable company in Malta, related to iGaming. 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice internally as may be required
  • Drafting and reviewing of legal documentation including contracts and agreements, and conducting negotiations
  • Ensuring that obligations are met in terms of local legislation , EU directives, and Corporate Governance requirements
  • The interpretation of legal documents whilst demonstrating a good understanding of Maltese and European legislation
  • Conducting legal research in relation to different legal areas as may be required
  • Being involved in issues related to data protection, and providing the appropriate advice
  • Assisting the police in relation to criminal activity if necessary, and representing the company in court cases
  • Being the representative in international fora including conferences and meetings held abroad
  • Keeping abreast with international and local regulatory developments
  • Any other duties that may be required for the smooth running of the department 

Education & Experience:

  • You must be a fully qualified and Warranted Lawyer, recognised and ability to practice under Maltese Law
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar legal role locally
  • Being in possession of gaming regulation knowledge will be considered an asset
