Our client, an esteemed financial institution is seeking to recruit a Head of Compliance to join their Regulatory department. The selected person will have the following responsibilities:
- Managing, guiding and overseeing the organization's Regulatory Compliance Department
- Acting as the company's compliance officer and main point of contact in this regard, liaising and maintaining relationships with regulators and auditors on compliance matters
- Monitoring, updating and reporting on compliance matters including policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Assessing and monitoring on a regular basis the company's adherence to regulations and practices as issued and updated from time to time by the regulator
- Updating and providing the company's management and board with any regulatory developments and the impact of such updates as well as coming up with any relevant recommendations
- Identifying and assessing compliance risks in relation to the company's operational activities which includes the development of new products and business practices
- Mentoring and guiding other team members on compliance related issues and providing related advise including training on a regular basis
- Ensuring that data privacy requirements are being adhered to at all times
Skill-sets and Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years local working experience in a similar role within Financial Services
- Self motivated and meticulous with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English, both verbally and written
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
Education & Experience
