Training and Development Manager


A job opportunity for a Training and Development Manager is now available. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing and sustaining a long-term training strategy
  • Building training programmes from scratch to execution through planning, implementation, delivery, review and outcome analysis
  • Working closely with and influencing senior officials as necessary
  • Liaising with different operational units and employees on an ongoing basis
  • Identifying training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with line managers, Heads of Department and HR officials
  • Managing staff training investments in line with established budget and timeframes
  • Assessing the ROI of all training or development programmes
  • Developing effective induction programmes for new staff and apprentices
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees
  • Developing custom individual learning plans and producing related training material for in-house courses
  • Assisting line managers and trainers to overcome any issues related to training as may arise from time to time

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within Banking, having hands-on training experience
  • An HR or related degree is required
  • A comprehensive understanding of the banking industry
  • A strong customer-focused background


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
  • Proven training, coaching and development skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Creative and Proactive, offering new and out of the box ideas and approaches
  • Highly motivated and engaging with employees
  • Excellent  presentation skills
  • Passionate about ongoing, lifelong learning and development
