Our client is an esteemed company in Malta. They would like to engage a Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager to continue growing their team
The Role
- You will be responsible for providing leadership and management for members of propriety and contracted staff
- You will be leading the operational running of Security, Health & Safety, Environment, Internal Audit, Risk, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Incident Management functions for the manufacturing, storage and shipping of all identity related solutions in a high risk and challenging environment
- Taking accountability for delivering operational excellence throughout the department
- Carrying out all security related activities in accordance with annual objectives and business imperatives
- Being compliant to all relevant company policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems
- Ensuring compliance with the personnel security screening policy, identifying any personnel related risks to the business, risk assessing and managing any associated risks to the business working with third party personnel screening service provider
- Ensuring that the site complies with established security procedures laid down within certain ISO standards
- Identifying and, where appropriate, implementing new ways of working (including lean/agile tools), equipment and processes to improve performance within the department and site.
- Incorporating security, BCP and HSE compliance requirements into the daily business operations and ensure subsequent processes are supported and audited.
- Maintaining a risk-based approach to internal and external changes that the threat landscapes covering all areas within the HSSE portfolio.
- Maintaining and developing a close working relationship with external stakeholders
- Maintaining and developing multiple Security, BCP, H&S and Environment internal and external accreditation and regulatory requirements
- Managing the investigation process of all Security and HSE issues
- Monitoring and maintaining the key performance indicators within the department and site and using these to generate improvements
- Providing advice and guidance to the Facility Lead on all Security, BCP, H&S and Environment related issues
- Training and mentoring HSSE personnel and line management on security policies, procedures, implementation, best practice and security and safety awareness
- Undertaking supply chain audits of secure item manufacturers, ensuring that contractual security and business continuity arrangements are maintained
Experience in Shipping/Logistical planning and management capability (Known Consignor or local customs arrangements)
Experienced in Business Continuity Management. Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI), or equivalent (preferred)
Previous experience in the identification, mitigation and management of risk, incident management, safety, and security (degree level or equivalent)

- Educated to Level 6 in Security and Risk Management or equivalent will be considered as strong asset
- Preferably be an ISO Lead Auditor &/or NEBOSH Certified
- Be fluent in Maltese and English
