Catering Manager

Malta  |  €35,000 - €40,000 

Our client, a well established group of companies in Malta, are seeking to employ a Catering Manager to oversee the contract management of the main client. Reporting to the General Manager, this role includes responsibilities for the planning, and organising of food schedules, project and human resource staffing requirements, estimating, budgeting, health and safety, and maintaining a high quality standard of product production and delivery within time deadlines set. 

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and liaising with logistics coordinator to ensure timely delivery targets are met.
  • Planning, scheduling and reviewing workload and workforce to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis.
  • Overseeing and participating in general management functions, including management meetings, recruitment/training of team members, and handling of the company’s performance management process.
  • Leading, motivating and supporting a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including implementation of career development plans.
  • Ensuring that the HACCP and food quality standards are always upheld in the remote service areas.
  • Responding to customer inquiries in and professional and timely manner.
  • Support the pastry department and CPU kitchen with any client order issues and coordinate communication between the Pastry and Logistics to ensure that any concerns are being dealt with.
  • Hold regular staff meetings to deal with any concerns and communicate any company’s information, delegating proper responsibilities as needed.

  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and enthusiastic team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet financial targets 
  • Excellent command of English and preferably Maltese
  • In possession of a clean driving license

Education & Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of Food and Beverage operation
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
