Budget Planning Assistant (temporary)

Within this Budget Planning Assistant role, you will be forming part of the company’s Department of Operations. Your main duties will include:

  • Provide support for the budget planning, forecasting, monitoring and reporting
  • Define, design and develop or improve budget planning, monitoring reporting tools, templates and checklists in line with the agreed reporting requirements
  • Provide support across the Operations Units Plan Focal Points 
  • Oversee and support the high-level budget review and monitoring of budget implementation. Gather, consolidate and provide timely updates/regular reports on operational budget implementation
  • Preparing Budget versus Actual expenditure reports including analysis, identifying and flagging budget issues
  • Regular cooperation and close collaboration with country offices budget focal points to promote consistency and ensure timely availability of accurate information as well as anticipate changes or risks with budgetary impact 
  • Support the development of scenario planning and contingency planning capacity in the Operations Unit 
  • Collaborate with and contribute to related work activities 

Education and Experience

  • University Degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Equivalent 
  • At least 3 years of post-university professional experience 

Skills

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Professional Fluency in English 
  • Able to work in a proactive, organized and to prioritise activities 
  • Ability to work within a team 
  • Having an eye for detail, accuracy and numeracy together with the ability to analyse and structure information
