A new vacancy for a senior principal packaging engineer has now arisen with a global manufacturer of Pharma/Medical products. Your duties here will include;
- Contributing to or leading the planning and implementation of packaging initiatives across various project categories, such as Quality/CAPA, Regulatory Compliance, Supplier Notices of Change, Cost Efficiency, and New Product Introductions
- Supervising projects with moderate complexity and extent, effectively handling multiple tasks with guidance and oversight. This could involve working on a substantial program or multiple smaller undertakings.
- Creating testing protocols and participating in Change Control operations, collaborating with different functional teams, including manufacturing plants and suppliers, within a collaborative setting to carry out alterations in packaging.
- Analyzing and proposing materials/methodologies to enhance existing products/processes or reduce costs, exploring new options for packaging materials.
- Generating packaging material specifications, related diagrams, and packaging procedural specifications, providing the necessary technical insights to back the product/packaging setup.
- Working with interdisciplinary teams to support packaging initiatives and meet project aims and milestones.
- Utilizing engineering methodologies to resolve straightforward packaging challenges (e.g., FMEA, Design of Experiments, A3).
Skill-sets and Requirements
- 5 - 7 years of related experience is a must
- Must have experience or training with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in packaging materials and processes, and some exposure to problem analysis and resolution, statistical methods, and design of experiments.
- Understand the concept and associated stages of change control required to execute packaging projects.
- Successful track record of implementing packaging projects and dedication to meet project landmarks to ensure manufacturing plants and R&D teams achieve targeted goals.
- Cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work.
- Accept Lean Principals and apply concepts such as standard work to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to coordinate and present technical and project management overviews with assistance.
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging or other relevant Engineering degree (e.g. Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical)
