Airworthiness/Planning Engineer

  South of Malta  |  Starting from €45,000 Annually 

Our client is looking to recruit an Airworthiness/Planning Engineer to join their growing team. Reporting to the Nominated Person Continuing Airworthiness (NPCA), the chosen candidate will:

  • Assist the NPCA in the day-to-day management and control of airworthiness across the fleet.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in airworthiness management processes and best practices.
  • Proactively report internal occurrences and unsafe practices.
  • Support the resolution of safety-related non-compliances and reported occurrences.
  • Collaborate with EASA Part-145 maintenance organisations and logistics suppliers to ensure effective execution of daily maintenance tasks.
  • Order and oversee maintenance activities.
  • Ensure proper execution and release of work by an approved EASA Part-145 Maintenance Organisation in accordance with the Approved Maintenance Programme (AMP).
  • Liaise with CAMO subcontractors to review and verify planning-related activities.
  • Validate compliance with planning and scheduling requirements.
  • Coordinate with the AMO and Logistics to ensure timely replacement of time-controlled components.
  • Prepare for upcoming maintenance events and obtain quotations for all planned tasks.
  • Work Order Management
  • Issue accurate and timely work orders to the AMO, either directly or via CAMO subcontractors.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with relevant departments, including AMO, Operations, and Logistics.
  • Regulatory Requirements
  • Ensure consideration of Airworthiness Limitation Items (ALIs) and Critical Design Configuration Control Limitations (CDCCLs) during maintenance planning, as applicable to the aircraft type.
  • Report issues with maintenance tracking systems to NPCA and system administrators.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve system functionality.
  • Conduct quality reviews of continuing airworthiness records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the management of aircraft entering and exiting the fleet, including preparation of bridging checks and documentation.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the NPCA or the designated deputy.

Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform quality reviews

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in airworthiness management or a similar role within an aviation organization.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part CAMO, Part 145 regulations and other relevant aviation standards.
  • Strong understanding of airworthiness management and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tracking systems and software. AMOS knowledge will be considered a plus.
