Lead Data Engineer

Malta  |  up to €75,000 

Our well-established client within the iGaming industry is on the lookout to hire a Lead Data Engineer to join their team in either Malta or UK.

Your responsibilities:

  • Proposing the best tools, solutions, and processes required to improve the team’s productivity, operations, and business value;
  • Acting as a technical expert with consumers of the data platform whilst troubleshooting issues and discussing new capabilities;
  • Supporting members of the team to develop their technical abilities;
  • Ensuring technical solutions are in line with the target architecture;
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity in data pipelines;
  • Ensuring the right source control, documentation, and testing are being followed;
  • Responding to ad-hoc data requests and conducting analysis as required by management from time to time;
  • Staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Skill-sets and Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge in both SQL and Python;
  • Hands-on experience using AWS, Azure or similar will be considered an asset;
  • Experience using Kafka, Spark or similar will be considered an asset;
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar will be considred an asset;
  • Understanding of data modelling and different data structures adapting to particular use cases;
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal;
  • Experience in iGaming is a huge plus (but not a must-have)

Education & Experience

Degree or higher in Computer Science or similar is considered an asset, but not a must.
