Our client, operating within the Financial Services is seeking to recruit a Chief Risk Officer to join their team of professionals. The selected candidate will be managing a team and have the following responsibilities, whilst having a direct reporting line to the CEO and the Board of Directors :
- Identifying potential threats to the financial and economic model and stability of the Company
- Recognizing operational, financial, operational, AML, and reputational risks and classifying them whilst undertaking preventive action to mitigate the risks
- Detecting potential threats to operational efficiency including underperforming resources, employee liabilities, business model deficiencies and safety risks
- Delivering regular risk analysis reports to the Board, together with actionable plans for the management of risk
- Preparing and maintaining internal and external data gathering for risk analysis and reporting
- Coordinating programs designed to minimize threats and anticipate threats within each function in the organization
- Overseeing the Business Risk Assessment and Customer Risk Assessment programs
- Conducting regular risk assessments for the area falling within the risk register
- Effecting due reporting with competent regulatory authorities, as applicable
- Managing and preparing all documentation related to risk assessments and reviews of standard operating procedures
The selected candidate will also have the following additional duties:
- Will sit in the organization's Executive Committee
- Will sit in the organization's ALCO
Skill-sets and Requirements
- Have a minimum of ten (10) years continuous work experience in risk management and related functions with licensed and regulated entities within financial services
- Hold a PQ clearance by the MFSA, or willingness and competence to undertake the certification process
Education & Experience
In possession of a first degree in an area related to risk management, financial services
