Senior Corporate Lending Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Corporate Manager to join one of the leading banks on the island. The chosen candidate will be reporting directly to the Head of Commercial as well as the Credit Management Committee and Board of Directors respectively.

Responsibilities include:

• To approve lending facilities within the delegated authority and to evaluate applications for facilities from clients to be submitted to Management Credit Committee, Board Credit Committee and Board of Directors in accordance with the Bank's Lending procedures and regulations
• Evaluate financing proposals submitted by large corporate clients and, where applicable, approve or decline applications within the delegated authority
• Suggest recommendations to the Head of Commercial in accordance with the Bank’s Lending procedures and regulations
• To manage and service a portfolio of high-end corporate customers 
• To lead and manage effectively a team of Corporate Banking Managers.
• To represent the Commercial Banking unit on Committees, Project boards and to attend Seminars and Conferences as requested by the Head of Commercial
• To keep abreast of the developments taking place in the economy and particularly in the Financial services industry
• To contribute effectively towards the achievement of the Annual Operating Plan for Commercial Banking and the set financial objectives to grow the Commercial Loan book and the generation of revenue through the marketing of Advances products and the cross selling of the Bank’s products and services;
• To identify and recommend processes which will increase operational efficiencies at the Commercial Business Unit

Education:

• A degree or MQF Level 6 in Banking and Finance or a Chartered Banker Certificate.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of previous local experience in corporate lending or Credit/Advances section within a bank
• Previous experience managing a team of professionals
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to challenge and negotiate when necessary
• Able to proactively attract and identify new business opportunities
• Strong leadership skills
