Market Trader

A reputable client of ours specialised in the Financial sector is seeking an experienced and driven Market Trader to join their trading team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trading various financial instruments and a proven track record in financial markets:

Duties:

• Execute trades in local bonds and equities on the Malta Stock Exchange.
• Execute trades across various international financial markets, including equities, fixed income, funds and currencies.
• Maintain and build relationships with clients, providing market insights and updates.
• Manage the Treasury Management function.
• Liaise with back office, middle office and IT for the efficient recording and settlement of trades.
• Collaborate with research analysts and client managers to gather and analyze market information.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in market trading within a financial institution
• Proficiency in trading software and tools, such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar platforms
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets, trading platforms, and instruments
• Would ideally hold a license to trade on the MSE
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
