VAT Manager

An esteemed client of ours within the aviation industry is seeking to recruit a VAT Manager to join their growing local tax team. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Managing the reporting and VAT compliance and ensuring this is being completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Analyzing and reviewing of accounting data
• Supporting with multiple jurisdictional VAT reviews and registration processes
• Rerconciling of VAT general ledger accounts including identifying variances and recommending suitable and corrective actions
• Reviewing of invoices from VAT perspective and identifying improvements needed;
• Supporting in the implementation of VAT controls and identifying opportunities to implement improvements, secure efficiencies and enhance compliance
• Coming up with solutions on VAT issues
• Producing written materials and process notes for the tax and finance team on VAT procedures
• Supporting with import VAT and duties in relation to global imports
• Assisting and supporting the team with VAT audits from the tax authorities
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Assisting with the implementation and integration of tax related software solutions
• Identifying potential tax planning opportunities and suggesting these to the team

Skill-sets and Requirements

• Minimum 5 - 7 years working experience in a similar role
• Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to understand processes and systems
• Strong knowledge in VAT related laws locally and within multiple EU jurisdictions
• Diligent and excellent team player
• Excellent communications skills in English, both verbally and written
