Our Client is currently seeking to recruit a Hospitality Accountant to join their Finance Team.  In this Role, you will be responsible for the accounting of vessel hospitality services and ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to. You will be reporting the Financial Controller and the following are your;

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To liaise with the Hotel Managers to ensure that information from the vessels is received in an accurate and timely manner;
  • To liaise with the Business Controller and the Financial Controller to ensure that all costs are reported to the correct cost accounts and cost centres;
  • To ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to by the Hotel Managers and vessels teams;
  • To check the accuracy of all reports received from the vessels and process in the accounting system. (These reports will include cash books, foreign exchange reports, inventory, onboard revenue and credit card expense reports);
  • To post AP and AR invoices;
  • To post bank transactions;
  • To perform general accounting duties, such as prepayments, accruals, payroll journals and reconciliations;
  • To prepare VAT Returns;
  • To analyse month end reports, such as inventory movements;
  • To reconcile end of month purchase orders generated by the procurement system;
  • To perform administrative work related to the ships, including updating the passenger days in the reporting system.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A Level in Accounting and ideally in the initial stages of ACCA;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office software;
  • Previous experience with the software Fidelio will be advantageous;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to co-operate with colleagues from various departments;
  • Ability to work independently and be result-driven;
  • Highly motivated, flexible and with a positive and “can do” attitude;
  • At least 3 years working experience in a similar role in the service industry;
  • Willing to travel (approx. twice a year);
  • Ideally fluent in French or German.
