Our client, a leading private aviation company is seeking to recruit a Group Consolidation Accountant to join their Accounting team, reporting straight into our Group Consolidation Manager.
The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Group's monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting procedures.
- Conducting monthly consolidations and sub-consolidations, scrutinizing inter-company balances, aiding entity accountants in resolving and rectifying inter-company discrepancies, processing journal entries, and ensuring sufficient supporting documentation is provided.
- Assisting in crafting the monthly consolidated management accounts, all while meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Analyzing monthly consolidated results and furnishing supplementary information for both internal and external review purposes.
- Uploading reporting packages from subsidiary companies.
- Supporting financial accountants in constructing movement schedules for entities within the Group.
- Aiding the Group's external auditors during the annual audit of consolidated financial figures by offering supporting data.
- Participating in the preparation of year-end consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes in accordance with IFRS.
- Generating ad-hoc reports as needed and enhancing the financial reporting process by making efficient use of available tools.
- Contributing to the improvement of the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Group's financial reporting procedures.
Skill-sets and Requirements
- Proven experience in handling group consolidated accounts within an international company, preferably with familiarity in SAP accounting systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Effective communicator, both in written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey technical accounting matters.
- Possesses a curious and analytical mindset, capable of understanding the business's commercial and operational aspects and connecting them to the reported financial performance and metrics.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, with a can-do attitude, and the ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
Accounting qualification (ACCA, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent) with a strong grasp of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
