Our client, a leading local company providing a variety of installation services is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their growing team.
The selected person will be responsible for the setting up of the accounting function and have the following responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting duties such as billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
- Preparing the budget, financial forecasts and report variances as well as management accounts
- Reviewing of Payroll
- Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Managing and submitting VAT returns
- Researching technical accounting issues in relation to compliance
- Developing and updating business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Any other duties which may be required from time to time such as preparing business plans, planning and the ability to providing financial strategies
Skill-sets and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of local experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Maltese
- Possess excellent eye for detail and have a proactive approach
- Previous knowledge in EU fundings is considered an asset
Education & Experience
Fully qualified and locally warranted accountant
